Luevano turned pro in 2000 and compiled a record of 32-1-0, which included a win over future champion Cristobal Cruz. He won the Vacant WBO Featherweight Title by defeating future Super Featherweight champion Nicky Cook (27-0-0) by KO on July 14, 2007.
On October 6, 2007, Steven Luevano (34-1, 15 KOs) defended his WBO featherweight title, unanimously defeating 35-year old Antonio "T-Rex" Davis (24-4) on the undercard of Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera. On March 15th Luevano defended his title magnificently against Thailands Terdsak Jandaeng (29-2-0) winning unanimously. In this pay-per-view fight he landed a featherweight boxing record for most jabs landed.

Steven Luevano's was tested in his 3rd defense on June 28, 2008 night's David Diaz-Manny Pacquiao undercard at Mandalay Bay Events Center. Luevano retained his 126-pound belt via split draw with Mario Santiago. Judge Harry Davis scored it 117-111 for Luevano, Duane Ford had it 115-113 for Santiago and Dave Moretti had it 114-114. ESPN.com also had it 114-114. Luevano landed 215 of 641 punches (34%) while Santiago connected on 214 of 835 (26%).
On October 18, 2008, Luevano defeated Billy Dib of Australia (21-0-0) for his 4th defense by unanimous decision.

Bernabe "Abe" Concepcion is a Filipino featherweight boxer. He is currently the holder of the WBC International Featherweight Crown. Concepcion resides in Binangonan, Rizal, Philippines. Being from the family of boxers, he trained at a young age. He turned professional at the age of 16.
Having developed his boxing skill in his early life, by 2005 (aged 16), he was considered to be one of the most promising boxing talents to emerge from the Philippines. Today, Concepcion fights mainly in the United States, carving out wins away from his homeland Philippines. He won his first title via KO in China against a Chinese hometown boxer, and gained his two recent belts in the United States against rated opposition.
In Concepcion's first try for a title, he gained his first draw as well as his first knockdown as a professional, but was able to floor his veteran opponent as well in the early rounds of that fight (Concepcion was 17 years of age at the time). A year later, he won the WBC youth super bantamweight title by scoring a unanimous decision win over a then undefeated opponent, Joksan "El Torito" Hernandez.

For his first world title shot, Concepcion will take on Steven Luevano for the WBO featherweight title on August 15, 2009.
